As August approaches, peak summer heat does too. While I still want you and Fido to spend time outside this summer, it’s really important to know how to do so safely.

Kennel cough is VERY contagious. It is named kennel cough because it can quickly spread through a kennel and infect every dog. It can spreads rapidly when dogs are kept in close quarters

There is strong evidence to suggest that the Maltese is an ancient breed, similar looking dogs show up on Greek artwork dating back as far as 500BC. Aristotle also makes mention of a breed called “melitaei catelli,” around 370BC, which was likely a Maltese.

Regardless of what the temperature or humidity is, always monitor your dog carefully for signs of fatigue or heat stroke. The sooner you notice these signs, the sooner you should stop any form of exercise, cool down your dog, and seek veterinary attention.

I believe most of us intuitively understand that dogs and cats have feelings. To me, those feelings include some form of embarrassment.
