Background 
The Tonkinese is a newer breed, the result of crossing Siamese and Burmese breeds in the 1960s. Some say that cats similar to the Tonkinese have been around since the 19th century, while others argue that the first Burmese imported to the United States, a female named Wong Mau, was actually a Tonkinese.

Background:

The theory surrounding the Japanese Bobtail is that he was taken from Asia and brought into Japan more than 1,000 years ago. After he proved himself to be an exemplary hunter Japanese authorities decided the Bobtail should be set free to populate and help with the rodent issue which plagued Japan. Soon the bobtail became known as the “street cat” of Japan.

People tend to really love or just as strongly dislike the look of a sphynx; but quite apart from their looks, there is a lot to recommend this cat

Ragdolls have skyrocketed in popularity over the past few decades.

Maine Coons are ranked as the second most popular breed by the Cat Fanciers’ Association.

History
There are lots of versions of the Persian’s history, but it is generally agreed that the breed originated in Persia in what is now Iran and Turkey. The cat made it westward and into Europe and England during the Crusades with the help of trading ships, and eventually the Persian became wildly popular among the aristocracy and royalty of Victorian England. 

The Somali is a medium-sized cat breed with a love for exploration and observation, and unlike many cats, he enjoys walking on a leash.

Always moving and very large, the Turkish Van loves to jump on and off furniture and, unlike most cats, actually enjoy going for a swim in pools or toilets.

The Turkish Angora gets along with everyone, including dogs, and love to climb. Unfortunately, some Turkish Angoras have some genetic health problems.
