There was a little girl named Catherine Violet Hubbard, who was, by all accounts, very special. She was a friend to every animal, no matter how big or small. Worms, bugs, and birds were almost as special to her as was her best friend, an aging dog named Samantha. Catherine's mom and dad would hear the little girl talking to the creatures she'd meet each day, whispering to them to be sure and tell their friends that she was kind, hoping that they'd always come back and visit. We're sure that those animals did indeed come back and visit her.
